Getting started using Client Portal

Getting started using Client Portal

Welcome to the Kennel Connection Client Portal Getting Started Guide. Here you'll find some helpful info and some links to knowledgebase articles that will help you get the ball rolling.

Many want to know what's different about our Live Access/Client Portal VS other fully hosted cloud software. Here's an explanation: What makes this Live Access different than other fully hosted software?

Important: Most of the time you're going to want your clients to receive auto-email communication from Live Access for appointment confirmations and other items. Please note that for emails to function you MUST have email settings added and working in KC Desktop. If you have not done this yet, please see this article: Configuring Kennel Connection to send emails

Initial Setup:

If you plan on using the Client Portal for your clients, the first thing you'll want to do is set it up and make it your own. Please see this link to configure your Client Portal branding and options for each module: Designing your own Client Portal page

Online Registration Setup:

Inside Live Access, there are some settings for the use of OLR that you'll want to choose and set prior to deploying. Here is a link that will show you some of those options up close: Configuring Client Portal registration & OLR settings

On-boarding your customers to use the Client Portal:

You'll need to determine how you want to allow your customers to signup for this new service. If you haven't already, visit the Online Registration Setup link in the above step to determine how they'll be allowed to register. Please see this article on the multiple ways to on-board: Onboarding your customers to Client Portal/OLR

Adding links and/or buttons to your own business website to direct your customers to Client Portal login, new user signup, existing user signup or other or all three

You'll need to give your customers a way to access the Client Portal easily whether it's to login and create/view appointments OR for new or existing customers to signup. Please see this document on the best methods to add links/buttons to your own website: Adding a Client Portal/OLR Link to Your Business Website
