Getting started using Live Access

Getting started using Live Access

Welcome to the Kennel Connection Live Access Getting Started Guide. Here you'll find some helpful info and some links to knowledgebase articles that will help you get the ball rolling.

Many want to know what's different about our Live Access VS other fully hosted cloud software. Here's an explanation: What makes this Live Access different than other fully hosted software?

Important: Most of the time you're going to want your clients to receive auto-email communication from Live Access for appointment confirmations and other items. Please note that for emails to function you MUST have email settings added and working in KC Desktop. If you have not done this yet, please see this article: Configuring Kennel Connection to send emails

Dashboard:

The main Dashboard screen allows you to see an overview of the day including new arrivals, checked in and checked out. You can use the search to filter by any information you see on that screen and each appointment has it's own menu for quick actions.

Modules (Boarding, Grooming & Daycare)

Each module has their own section with their own specific options such as full calendar view, schedule view, run glance, make appointment, reports and waitlist. The images shown below are for boarding but grooming and daycare have the same.

To view reports for each module, you simply click on the module and choose reports. All the available reports for that specific module will be shown.

Live Access will conform to the size device you're using. (Note that as you get to smaller devices, appearances may look different, and some view options may disappear as a desktop size browser cannot be displayed on a smartphone.)

The Calendar view allows you to view month, week, day or list.  Single clicking on a displayed appointment will open that appointment.

The schedule shows all appointments for that specific module. The search acts just like the dashboard search and allows you to filter results based on the text you see on the schedule. Each appointment has its own quick option menu.

Run glance allows you to view books or open runs.

Modules (Appointment Creation)

Each module allows you to add appointments or modify, delete & cancel just like desktop. Here is a quick overview of adding appointments. Creating appointments

Reports

The "Reports" menu option outside of the individual modules is for all reports that are unrelated to a specific module. Click each category and the reports will be displayed.

Online Reservations

The online reservations section has multiple sections. We'll cover each one here:

Use & Registration.

This section allows you to configure the use of your Online Reservation system and how your new and existing clients will and can register:

This section allows you to enable or disable OLR for the individual modules or for all.

This section allows you to choose your settings that your already existing clients in KC will follow:

This section allows you to choose your settings that new clients (not entered in KC yet) will follow along with setting your options for the Client Portal page:

Be sure to click "Save Changes" when done!

Business Settings

This section allows you to configure your business settings such as logos, slogans, welcome messages and more.

The Boarding tab allows you to set specific settings for Boarding reservations. (Note, more settings to be added.)

Each module tab has a "Questions" tab. Here you can add questions that you want your customers to answer either each time they make a reservation or just the first time they make a reservation.

Grooming tab has settings for Grooming OLR. (Note, more settings to be added.)

Daycare tab has settings for daycare OLR. (Note, more settings to be added.)

Pending Appointments

The pending appointments section is if you have "require approval" enabled for your OLR bookings. Before the appointment is confirmed, the appointments will land here where you or your staff will need to approve or edit and approve. Upon approving, the customer will receive an email notification that their appointment was confirmed and the appointment will move to the schedule.

WARNING: Email to customers will ONLY work if you have email settings entered in your KC desktop. Click this link to learn how to add email settings to KC: Configuring Kennel Connection to send emails

User Management

The user management section allows you to add your employees from Kennel Connection to Live Access, view the employee list and set access restrictions.

Important: Before you add employees to Live Access, they must be already added to Kennel Connection desktop and their access rights should also be set as Live Access uses the access rights set in KC desktop. Here is some info on how to add employees to KC Desktop and set access rights: Adding Employees & setting access rights in Kennel Connection

Once you have your employees setup in KC Desktop, you can add them to Live Access.

User Tools

The user tools section allows your employees (if they have Live Access logins) to click the "My Details" section and view their schedules for the previous week, current week and next week.

Important: For the schedules to function, you must already have these employees added to KC and you must use the KC employee schedule feature to add schedules. Adding Employee Schedules to KC

"Add" Section

This section is a quick add section where you can simply add new clients and new appointments for each module.
