With a new software, comes some new tasks. If you're going to be using the Client Portal side of the software, you'll need to have your customers signup. There are multiple ways to accomplish this. Choose what best works for you and/or your customers.
Past OLR Users:
If you used the Kennel Connection old OLR platform and still do, you can simply import those users to the new system from inside your Live Access system. (If you never used the old OLR platform, skip this section.)
Inside Live Access click the Online Reservations menu item and choose "Manage Clients."
Look for the "Existing Client" Settings. Click the "Import Existing Clients" button.
If successful, you'll see a blue message in the lower right with how many clients were imported. These clients can now login to the Client Portal with their existing usernames and passwords.
** If you prefer to start fresh which many past OLR users do, you do not have to do this import and your clients can signup for the new account with their own email addresses and passwords using a method below.
Add a Client Portal button to your business website and notify your customers to signup (Most common and easiest method)
Use this link to add a text hyperlink or a button to your business website. Then through a mass email to your customers using something like Constant Contact or MailChimp or other marketing email platforms, you can advise them of the new OLR system and to head over to your website to register. Be sure to take note of the multiple options in the article. You can have one button where clients can login or signup or you can add multiple buttons and have one for login and one for signup for both new and existing users. Whatever you think will be easier: Adding a Client Portal/OLR Link to Your Business Website.
Note the general Client Portal screen has both the login and register options:
Sending individual and personalized email links to your clients:
There may be some customers where it's easier and more convenient to send them a personalized email with a signup link. To do this:
Inside Live Access click the Online Reservations menu item and choose "Manage Clients."
At the top in the "Manage Clients for Online Reservations" Settings. Click the drop down arrow on the "Generate Link now for client" menu item and choose the client you wish to generate a registration link for.
!TIP! (Once you click the drop down arrow, you can press the letter of the clients last name on your keyboard to jump to that section or type out the name if you know it.)
Then click "Generate Link". A link will appear below.
You have two options.
First, you can click the "copy to clipboard" icon which will copy the link to your computers clipboard. You can then paste it anywhere you want (in an email, document) wherever you wish.
Second, you can click the "Send Email" button. This will expand a pre-populated email message for that client you chose. You can click the "send to customer" button without making any changes OR you can edit the message and then send.
IMPORTANT! Do NOT edit the [[RegistrationLink]] as this, when sent to the customer will be the URL (link) they click to take them to registration.
Once your customer receives the email and clicks on the link they will be directed to an account creation page. All they have to do is enter their email address (whichever they prefer as long as they have access to the inbox) and enter a password and password confirmation. Click Register and they will be signed up and logged into their own Client Portal where they will be able to see their pets and appointments and make new OLR's.
Use a marketing email service like Constant Contact or MailChimp or other similar services to send email to all your users with a direct registration link:
If you want to just send a mass email using a marketing email service to all your clients with a direct registration link you can simply append /olr/existingclientsignup to your URL so for example if my URL was https://happypetsboston.mykcapp.com and I wanted to send an email to all current KC users and direct them right to the registration page, I wouldput https://happypetsboston.mykcapp.com/olr/existingclientsignup in the email OR like in the above email section, you could use a text hyperlink and do something like "Click here to register now"
This link will take them directly to the existing client registration page where it will match their First, last, email and phone to an existing client record.
