There are three types of training in Kennel Connection:
Resident training - This is when the pet will also be boarding with you. These appointments must be made through the Training schedule. KC will create a training appointment and a boarding appointment. The boarding appointment will be color coded for board + train on the schedule like below. If you need to modify a resident appointment, it must be done through the Training schedule.
One-on-One training - This is when the pet will be coming in for just a session with the trainer. You can schedule multiple One-on-One appointments on the same day if needed.
Classes - This is when you want to train a group of pets together. You can have classes such as Puppy Kindergarten or Advanced Training.
Set the training rates in File, Inventory.
Train - R is for resident.
Train - O is for One-on-One.
Enter a retail price and hit Save. This price will show on the appointment screen and invoice.
You can also set a rate when you are on the appointment screen.
Classes are setup in File, Lists, Training Classes. Click here for instructions.
When making appointments, sort the schedule by the type of training you want. You have to choose Classes in order to book those appointments.
You can sort by either Resident or One-on-One to make those appointments. On the appointment screen, you can click on the one you want.
One-on-One appointments
You can book appointments for multiple days during the week. Choose the beginning date and check the days of the week. For example, choose a Monday as the beginning date, then check the M, W, F boxes to make a Monday, Wednesday, Friday appointment for 4 weeks.
The One-on-One screen has fields for runs and board rate but they do not apply to One-on-One appointments so they are grayed out.
Resident appointments
If you require run numbers for boarding in File, System Options, Boarding tab, you must choose one before making the resident train appointment.
In order to use a run for training, you must go to File, Lists, Runs and check the Training box for those runs. Be sure to hit Save after each one.
Resident training appointments default to a week span but you can adjust the dates if needed.
You can setup commissions for training classes or One-on-One sessions. Click here for details.
