This 2D scanner is designed for all types of retail environments and scans very aggressively at all angles, in all light conditions, and on most forms of media including cell phone screens. This scanner was built with future proofing in mind where it can scan both standard UPC Barcodes as well as 2D QR Codes for mobile couponing or customer registration.
Setup Part 1. Unboxing and plugging in.
This new scanner has even easier configuration than previously models. Simply remove the scanner from it's packaging. Plug the USB side into your computer and the ethernet side into the bottom of the scanner handle. This will power on the device and Windows will automatically install and configure. Please give it a minutes to install before proceeding.

Pres the button to scan that code. (If scanner is not reading it, slowly pull back the scanner away from the screen while holding button.) When it scans it, you'll hear a success chirp.
This completes the setup of the barcode scanner. If you were unable to scan these codes on the screen, your device came with a user manual that has these barcodes in it. Please open that manual and scan these same codes in order. Alternatively attached to this article is a PDF with these codes. Feel free to print it out ands can them from there as well.
Part 3. Configuring Kennel Connection to use the scanner.
Now you must tell Kennel Connection that you will be using a bar code scanner. Please in Kennel Connection click on File, System Options and choose the Local tab.
Enable the options shown in red below:
IF you will be using this scanner to scan in pets for daycare using key tags, you must now click on the Daycare tab and enable the "Auto-create booking and check-in" option.
Lastly, many clients choose to setup a computer just for check-ins and outs so there is always a machine ready for the customers to scan their tags with. If you do this, you'll want to tell that Kennel Connection NOT to prompt you about warnings otherwise this will interrupt the automated check in/out process.
Click on Local again and remove the check marks from "Show pet warning message at check-in" and "Show owner warning message at check-in"
You're now ready to use your new barcode scanner with Kennel Connection. For more info on how to setup pets or clients with their own barcodes to use for check in/out, please click HERE.
