The Delete Old Data utility gives you the option to delete appointment data up to a certain date. This utility does NOT delete financial data. It also gives the option to delete inactive clients.
Please note: You MUST backup your database before using the Delete Old Data utility. There is NO way to reverse this feature. A backup will be the only way to refer back to data being deleted. There will be multiple prompts after you click to run the utility, asking if you are sure you want to proceed, so this is not run by mistake. Backing up the database
There is no automatic way to mark clients as inactive so you'll need to open the client card and click the Inactive box on the right side panel. You can run Reports, Lists, Last In Report to get a list of clients who have not been in since X date.
To run the utility, click on Utilities, Delete Old Data. Check the box(es) for what data you would like to delete. Enter a date for what date to start deleting appointments. So if you put 01/01/19, appointments before that date will be deleted.
Please note: Kennel Connection does not track when a client was made inactive. If you choose this option, it will delete ALL inactive clients in your database, regardless of when they were made inactive.
After the utility is done, you must backup the database again to clear up any 'dead space' created by the deleted files.
Important: While you are not able to undo the deletion of appointment data, you can undelete clients by clicking on Utilities, Undelete client. Check the box for which client(s) you want to undelete.
