NRA - No Run Assigned

NRA - No Run Assigned

When your facility is reaching capacity, instead of turning pets away or putting them on the waitlist, you can let KC put them in NRA.  NRA stands for No Run Assigned.  This keeps the pet on your boarding schedule without putting them into an occupied run.

IMPORTANT:  Using NRAs can lead to overbooking if you do not have space in your facility to accommodate pets in NRA.  If you have 3 pets in NRA and no run becomes available, you'll need 3 spaces to put those pets.

To set your options, go to File, System Options, Boarding tab.

NRA

Disable NRA feature turns the option on/off.

Check 'On NRA board same family pets' automatically checks that box on the appointment screen for multipet bookings.

NRA

Count NRAs as number of runs required

Fill NRA with any available run if requested size is not available means KC will put that pet into any size run.  For example, if you have an appointment with a Large run, with this option enabled, KC will put that pet into a Small run if it is available.

On your boarding schedule is a count for NRA appointments.

NRA

Please note:  KC already has an NRA as part of the database.  Do not add another NRA to File, Lists, Runs.  KC will NOT count these appointments in the NRA count on the boarding schedule and it will be listed twice on the Run Glance.

When making an appointment, if the run you choose is not available, KC will popup this screen.

NRA

Click Find an available run.

If there is no run available for the entire stay, KC will try to piecemeal runs together.

It will let you know if it can piece together other runs for the entire stay or if the pet needs to be in an NRA for part of the stay.

For example, let's say you have 4 Senior runs.

You want to make an appointment for the week but there is no run that is available for the entire week.  All of the runs are filled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

NRA

You click to let KC choose a run.

NRA

It will put the pet in available runs for Monday, Thursday, and Friday but will be put in NRA for Tuesday and Wednesday.

NRA

The appointment will show on the schedule with NRA as the run and it will be included in the NRA count at the bottom.

NRA

When you delete or cancel an appointment, or move a pet to a different run, KC will move that NRA to the run if it's the same size (depending on your settings in System Options).
