Symptom: You are using Kennel Connection on a workstation and notice the icons are no longer displaying across the top. Instead you see bubbles or dots or words. You also won't be able to print reports or reports may be incorrect on this machine.
Cause: This means your Windows Network Drive has disconnected.
Remedy: You will need to reconnect these computers.
Step 1: Restart the workstation. Once it is fully booted, try opening Kennel Connection and see if it will connect and show the icons.
Step 2: Open File Explorer (manila folder) and then click Computer or THIS PC on the left.
You are looking for your network drive, in most cases, the K drive. There may be a red X on it. (This is down under Network Locations.)
In this screen shot, it's using Z instead of K.
If there is a red X icon on your KC7 drive, double click on the drive to see if it will open.
If it does, open KC and see if the icons show. If they do, you're all set.
If it does not open and instead gives an error about needing the network password, you can try turning off network password protection. You will do this on the main computer/server. Click here for directions.
After you turn off the password protection and reconnect the network drive, open KC on the workstation.
If the icons still don't show, you will need a local PC tech to get the computers back on the same network.
Please note that network issues are the responsibility of you/your technician and are not covered under your support plan.
