If you get an error when trying to use your Gmail or Google account in Kennel Connection that has this error (usually towards the bottom of the error log)
534-5.7.9 Application-specific password required. Learn more at
534 5.7.9 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=InvalidSecondFactor s5sm2102188qkg.88 - gsmtp
Failed to login using LOGIN method
Failed to connect to SMTP server.
This means you have 2-Step verification enabled for your account. 2-Step verification means that when you try to login to your email account from an unknown device or software, a text message or similar is sent to your phone number with a code. You must then take that code and enter it in the field to complete your login to your account.
Kennel Connection does not work with 2-Step verification enabled so you have two options:
1. Disable 2-Step verification inside your Gmail/Google account settings.
2. Create an app specific password which is referenced in the error log with the URL listed above and here:
https://support.google.com/mail/?p=InvalidSecondFactor
You must then take that app password you created and enter it in the KC, File, Business Info, Email settings, password field to solve the issue.
