You are using Kennel Connection on a workstation and get errors such as "Automation error: Object has disconnected from its client" and "Cannot find input table or query".
This error is caused by a network drop in which the workstation computer loses connection to the main/server computer. When KC attempted to retrieve information from your database on the main/server computer, it could not retrieve the information and resulted in these errors.
Network drops can happen for a split second, so fast that you may not notice it. It only takes a momentary disconnect to cause these errors.
Wireless networking often has unexpected disconnects. Wireless networking is never recommended for use with Kennel Connection as those disconnects can affect your database. It will also contribute to slowness with the program. Kennel Connection requires a constant connection to the database to send and receive data.
This is not an error caused by Kennel Connection, but by your network. Software Connection only supports Kennel Connection. To reconnect to the network, you can reboot all computers, including the server. If you cannot get this workstation back on the network, you will need to get a certified network technician local to your area to remedy the situation.
IMPORTANT: If you are using Kennel Connection on a workstation and experience a network drop, you run the risk of corrupting your database. There are times when a corrupt database cannot be fixed and in that case you will need to restore from your last backup. It is vital that you backup your database, every day is ideal, to an external hard drive, such as a flash drive. Click on Backing up your database for instructions.
