Disabling SmartScreen filter in Windows 10

From your desktop, press the Windows key Smartscreen filter + X on your k eyboard to bring up the administrative menu.  Choose "Control Panel" or use the search bar built into the task bar and search for "Control Panel".

In the upper right hand corner of the control panel, where it says "View by", be sure it's set to "Small icons".  Then choose "Security and Maintenance".

Click on "Change Windows SmartScreen settings" on the left hand side.

Place a check mark in the circle that says "Don't do anything (turn off Windows SmartScreen) and click OK.

The SmartScreen filter has been successfully disabled.
