Adding anti-virus exceptions for Live Access and auto updates

Adding Anti-virus exceptions for Live Access and auto update

After installing the Kennel Connection update 7.07, your KC7 folder will contain a few new application files. While most anti-virus programs do not interfere with these, there are some that will block new files accessing the Internet. We strongly suggest adding these files to your anti-virus exception list right after installing the 7.07 update to prevent any issues. Most anti-virus software has a settings/exceptions or exclusion menu. Since all are different, you’ll need to either search the web for “how to add exceptions for (anti-virus software name inserted here)” or contact your anti-virus software support.

We recommend adding the entire KC7 folder and all sub-folders as an exception if your anti-virus software allows for full folder exceptions but also recommend adding the individual files as well. Here is a list of folders and files.

Folders:

C:\KC7

Individual files: (File paths provided based on default C: drive setup. File names are shown here in bold.)

Please note some of these may not be on your system yet.

KC Desktop:

C:\KC7.exe

C:\KC7\KCAutoUpdateInstaller.exe

C:\KC7\KCAutoUpdater.exe

C:\KC7\KCUpdateService.exe

KC Live Access:

C:\KC7\ClientPortalRegistrationForm.exe

C:\KC7\LiveAccess\KCAzureServiceHost.exe

 C:\KC7\LiveAccess/KCAzureHostSynchronizer.exe
